Soul Care Training is taught by Terry Ewing, founder of Plumbline Ministries Inc., through six powerful units. Each unit stands on its own so you can begin the journey at any time.
This unit lays the groundwork for soul care through the core principles of the Plumbline Ministries pastoral counseling model. You’ll be introduced to the tools we use most for emotional discovery, spiritual reflection, and the sacred work of writing and sharing your personal story.

Soul care invites us to feel deeply without being ruled by emotion. In this unit, you'll explore the freedom that comes from owning your emotions, expressing them honestly, and responding to emotionally charged situations with God-given wisdom and grace.

True soul care empowers people to engage relationships with clarity, courage, and grace. This unit equips you to break free from unhealthy cycles and walk in relational wholeness. You’ll gain tools for emotional awareness, healthy boundaries, and Spirit-led decision-making in complex relationships.

Soul Care begins in the stories we come from. This unit explores how family of origin, developmental stages, and trauma shape how we relate to others and ourselves. You’ll gain tools to recognize patterns, understand parenting and family roles, and invite God’s healing into generational dynamics.
You’ll learn to:
This unit begins by grounding students in the spiritual realities of warfare as a common trial of life. From there, we explore key diagnostic categories that impact individuals and families—offering insight, compassion, and clarity. The unit concludes with student-led presentations on selected topics.
You’ll learn to:
This unit explores how the brain is formed, how it functions, and how prayer can transform both. You’ll engage the intersection of neuroscience and spiritual formation—discovering how connecting with God promotes healing, renewal, and lasting change. Each session includes teaching and guided experiential application.

Boundaries are unseen structures that protect us from harm and support healthy, productive lives. This class is a study based on biblical principles designed to help people learn how to determine what they are and are not responsible for. Boundaries give you the freedom to walk as the loving, giving, fulfilled individual God created you to be.

This seminar is for those who are not certain of how God sees us and celebrates us as sexual beings; for those who desire to establish a more enjoyable sexual relationship with their spouse; for those who desire to develop healthier sexual motivations and to be healed from destructive sexual motivations. We will be able to discuss our sexuality honestly and directly without embarrassment or judgements.

In this seminar, each of the seven deadly sins is identified along with the emotional, relational, and spiritual roots that give them strength in our souls. Once the deep needs of our hearts are identified, we are prepared to seek God’s grace to love us in the unique ways we individually need Him to. Together we will move beyond the subject of sin to celebrate the virtues the Holy Spirit is already working within us.
